Company Biography

Beetleswamp Productions began with a short film back in 1999 called Six Questions. The intent was to ask random questions to people inhabiting the off season of a small New England resort island. What came out was the story of a local community being displaced by multimillion dollar homes that sit empty for most of the year.

Over the next few years the story was examined in other documentaries such as Faces of Grace Church and Vacationland. In 2002 BP teamed up with Save the Waves Coalition to produce Lost Jewel of the Atlantic which documents the needless destruction of high-quality surf breaks at one of the most secretive big wave destinations in the world.

Although development is a huge subject that deserves a lot of examination, the latest short "Tatau" focuses on the evolution of Polynesian tattoo and how the ancient practice was erased by Christianity on many islands and is now coming back in new and different forms.
